The collection of UK AIDS Quilts were made between 1989 and 1996 to commemorate friends, lovers and family members who passed away from an AIDS related illness during this time. You can zoom in to some of the specific details listed below.
The top left panel is made by Jimmy and Div, remembering “all our friends”. It includes lyrics from Sharon Redd’s 1989 song “In the Name of Love”.
The centre left panel remembers Mark Ashton, and includes messages from friends and a quote from Shelly’s Laon and Cythna; or The Revolution of the Golden City.
