AIDS Quilt 30

The collection of UK AIDS Quilts were made between 1989 and 1996 to commemorate friends, lovers and family members who passed away from an AIDS related illness during this time. You can zoom in to some of the specific details listed below.

The top left panel remembers David Johnson, a lover of arts and a renowned artist. David pursued his craft and sold his works all over the world, including in Mykonos, Greece, and was remembered as witty, creative and with a wicked glint in his eye.

The top right panel remembers Paul Christopher Davies, and was made by his friend Angela and sister Sue. The dog is Paul’s Staffordshire terrier and protector “Crib”, and the cat represents all the cats he had. Paul had a love of music and a huge record collection, represented by the flute.
